Smoke Alarms

The intent of the law is to have homeowners purhcase sealed (tamper resistant), ten-year battery operated devices. The homeowner is responsible for replacing smoke alarms that comply with Underwriters Laboratory (UL) 217, “Standard for Safety for Single Use and Multiple Station Smoke Alarms.”
